::I partially agree with your scheme, however indefinite blocks (sometimes to our big sadness) shouldn't be carried out on IPs. Internet providers still circulate IPs around their customers meaning some IPs have already changed their owner multiple times, which in turn prevents innocent people from editing the wikiproject. There are other tools to fight long term vandalism (like IP range blocks or just extended block durations, for example) so you will still prevent vandalism on your project but won't loose potential editors. ::I partially agree with your scheme, however indefinite blocks (sometimes to our big sadness) shouldn't be carried out on IPs. Internet providers still circulate IPs around their customers meaning some IPs have already changed their owner multiple times, which in turn prevents innocent people from editing the wikiproject. There are other tools to fight long term vandalism (like IP range blocks or just extended block durations, for example) so you will still prevent vandalism on your project but won't loose potential editors. ::I partially agree with your scheme, however indefinite blocks (sometimes to our big sadness) shouldn't be carried out on IPs. Internet providers still circulate IPs around their customers meaning some IPs have already changed their owner multiple times, which in turn prevents innocent people from editing the wikiproject. There are other tools to fight long term vandalism (like IP range blocks or just extended block durations, for example) so you will still prevent vandalism on your project but won't loose potential editors. ::I partially agree with your scheme, however indefinite blocks (sometimes to our big sadness) shouldn't be carried out on IPs. Internet providers still circulate IPs around their customers meaning some IPs have already changed their owner multiple times, which in turn prevents innocent people from editing the wikiproject. There are other tools to fight long term vandalism (like IP range blocks or just extended block durations, for example) so you will still prevent vandalism on your project but won't loose potential editors.
