I am glad to inform you that as the next step in the Parser Unification project, Parsoid will soon be turned on as the default article renderer on your Wiktionary. We are gradually increasing the number of wikis using Parsoid, with the intention of making it the default wikitext parser for MediaWiki's next long-term support release. This will make our wikis more reliable and consistent for editors, readers, and tools to use, as well as making the development of future wikitext features easier. If this transition disrupts your workflow, don’t worry! You can still opt out through a user preference or turn Parsoid off on the current page using the Tools submenu, as described in the Extension:ParserMigration documentation. There is more information about our roll-out strategy available, including the testing done before we turn on Parsoid for a new wiki. Dark mode is an option that allows users to view pages in light-coloured text, and icons on a dark background. Once it is available for anonymous users, they can enable it when using various devices. More information on ways to enable it can be found on this page. Given many pages are still not compatible with dark mode this will be an opt-in feature and not automatically apply to pages. Dark mode requires modifications to content pages and templates, and since our initial launch in July 2024, we have been working with communities and helping them prepare for dark mode. Before the rollout, it is essential that template authors and technical contributors test dark mode and read this page to learn how to make pages Dark mode-ready and address any compatibility issues found in templates. We will fix most color compatibility issues only on the most-viewed pages on projects with over 5 million monthly page views. As a rule of thumb, it is probably a good idea to do more than create 3 new entries on a single day, so that you get to know the community and its workings better, before suggesting a major change like this. Logically, things are generally done the way they are for a reason, though certainly there is room for change when there are good reasons to do so. Either way, consensus would be needed for a change like this to be implemented, so keep that in mind. On the other hand, due to the small size of the community here, consensus can be reached more easily here than on larger projects. :That said, I see both pros and cons to your suggestion. You will likely get significant pushback on some of your points. Also, I don't think I'm alone in feeling that pronunciation should not split the definitions from their examples. :Finally, you may note that this community, since it's quite a small one, responds slowly, so don't be surprised if any further comments or responses take a while. Consider writing on the most active users' (and administrators') talk pages for, possibly, a faster response. :Please don't let this stop you from contributing further in ways that match the current rules. Unlike "lie", which is intransitive, the separate verb "lay" is transitive. Care should especially be taken to not confuse "lay" (verb that is different from "lie") with "lay" (the past tense of "lie"). === Related words === * liar == Verb 2 == # intransitive If you lie, you say or write something that you know is not true. fib tell the truth #: "How old are you?" he asked. In past tense the word "lier" perceived in the new dictionary does not exist. It has been deleted from context to be depicted as "liar" when in fact they are two different existing words that have two different meanings all together. In example, to be a "lier" is to be a noun in context and to be a "liar" would be as a verb form.
