Wave has several meanings, most of which relate to repeating changes:

  • In physics and technology, a wave (physics) carries energy that makes visible light, sound, and many other things
  • A wave (gesture) is a way of communicating with other people using hand signals or other non-spoken ways
  • A wave (water) in the water is a disturbance on the surface (top) of water, caused by the wind, or something in the water such as a boat or a swimmer
  • Wavelength (or wave length) is a measurement of waves
