Transposon
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Transposons were first found by Barbara McClintock. A transposon is a gene or series of DNA code that can move around inside the cells main DNA. These genes move around in the order often without much influence of the cell. These genes very many times cause mutations in the genetic code which happen many times and are mostly fatal. Transposons can be used to insert a gene into the flies main DNA during early embryonic state. The orgins of transposons is a topic in science that is being researched and we know little about.
