Breakdancing is a type of African-American dance that is done by people who are part of the Hip hop culture. Breakdancing was invented in the 1970s and 1980s in African-American communities in big cities of the United States.
Hip hop culture involves hip hop music, a style of dressing called "urban wear", breakdancing, and a type of street art in which people paint pictures or words on walls, which is called graffiti.
Breakdancing is usually done while hip hop music is playing on an amplifier and a loudspeaker. Hip Hop music is a type of popular music which started in the 1970s in African-American (also called "Black") communities in big cities of the United States.
Breakdancing uses different body movements, spins, arm movements, leg movements, all of which are done to the rhythm of the hip hop music. Breakdancing was most popular in the 1980s. In the 1990s and 2000s, breakdancing was still done by some people involved in hip hop culture.
