Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin ( listen ?) (Russian spelling:Бори́с Никола́евич Е́льцин) (born February 1, 1931) was the first President of Russia. He served from 1991 to 1999. Mikhail Gorbachev, the last president of the Soviet Union came before him. Vladimir Putin came after him.
