[edit] YonaBot
This bot is an interwiki.py bot that already has the bot flag on the English Wikipedia. It will be linking mostly from the Hebrew Wikipedia. The operator is commons:User:Yonatanh (where I am also an admin). Yonatan 03:33, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] SuisuiBot
User:SuisuiBot is a bot controld by User:Suisui, mainly work for pywikipedia warnfile of ja.wikipedia, to maintain interwiki links. It has already flagged on ja.wp and has 50000 edits. It wont be run too much. I request just for not to crimp your RC. thanks.--Suisui 04:57, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Soulbot
Soulbot is a pywikipedia bot. I will use it for monitored fixing of interwiki links across many languages. - Soulkeeper 14:38, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- It will work on articles mainly about organic species, but also on some biographies and other non-ambigous articles. When ambigouity does appear, it is solved manually. Editing many wikipedias at once is effective and saves bandwidth. See contributions (en - da - sv) to get an idea of what the bot is doing, and no:Bruker:Soulbot for the current status on different wikipedias. Please also use my Norwegian talk page if you want to leave me a note. Best regards, Soulkeeper 18:52, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Chobot
Hi.
Chobot is an interwiki bot, running pywikipedia. Can I ask a bot status for Chobot? See Special:Contributions/Chobot what it does. -- ChongDae 14:11, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
- I am concerned by many of the comments on meta:User talk:ChongDae. Your bot doesn't not seem to be working correctly. It would be better if you 1) ran without a bot flag, and 2) only make changes which link ko: with en: and simple:, since those are your strongest language skills. -- Netoholic @ 17:11, 26 July 2005 (UTC)
-
- Pywikipedia program does not support fixing only a FEW languages. And it is really INEFFICIENT to fix one language at a time. -- ChongDae 14:19, 27 July 2005 (UTC)

- And if my bot does not work correctly, other bots will do not, too. I'm using CVS version of the pywikipedia, which is used by other bot operators. The trouble in my talk page was about Lepidoptera. I intended to connect order Lepidoptera between wikipedias. And I found that some wikipedias use Butterfly pages as "order Lepidoptera" -- In fact, moths are larger part of Lepidoptera than butterflies. I gave up that approach (try yo connect same level of scientific classifications) after that. -- ChongDae 18:35, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- Hey everyone, my nickname is Datrio and I'm a Wikimedia steward. I wanted to know what does the Simple community think about Chobot, now? Datrio 11:48, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] SOTNBot
I'd like to use SOTNBot (contribs), based on pywikipediabot, to occasionally update interwikis, 'touch' pages when necessary and perform text replacements, External Links -> External links, for example. I'm performing further demonstration edits. Any support or objections to me requesting a bot flag? Michael 06:39, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] User:Erwin85Bot
I request a bot status for Erwin85Bot. I'm an active user and sysop on nl: and I'll work on adding interwiki's on nds-nl:. However to minimize the server load I'd like to add backlinks from other wikipedia's to nds-nl as well. So other bots don't have to load the same pages again. The bot will always run manually assisted. In cases where I don't know what interwiki to use, I will simply give up. --Erwin85 20:08, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Basic English Bot (request)
Meta bot request
I'm on Wikipedia as SBHarris, and just discovered Simple English Wikipedia. Kick me if this has been suggested someplace else, but it occurs to me that what Simple English Wikipedia needs, is a lot of robotic flagging of articles to see which of their component words are part of the Basic English 850, or 1500, or derivatives thereof (a much longer list). The output might give words in three different colors, for example.
It would be most useful if a user had some way of running the `bot repetitively on an article, while editing it. The best place for the bot to run in the background, would obviously be to have it run every time the user did a "show preview." Results would come up very much like the "linked" or "unlinked" colors now used for THOSE purposes.
For this reason, such a "bot" would really ideally be part of the mediawiki software that runs this place. So this would more than a bot, but change in the basic software. But anything (even a bot which runs once a day and checks all articles) would help.
Without a lot of experience, it's quite difficult for the average native English speaker to tell if words below a certain complexity are part of the Basic English 850 or 1500 list. However, with these things automatically flagged by bot, it IS easy, even for inexperienced people to spot target words outside basic English, and then to make a decision if there is some shorter and more basic replacement that works as well, or if the word needs to stand "as is."
Won't one of your considerate 'bot makers (or you software mogels who did the original programming for this Version) consider working on this? It really would change everything here.
Addendum: I can think of more complex stuff, and most of these ideas apparently aren't as creative as I thought, since a friend of mine also came up with most of them, even as I was explaining the problem, before I'd gotten to my solutions. (So something of this sort has got to happen here eventually-- it's only a matter of WHEN, not IF). Here's a related Bot solution: There is need for a Reverse Thesaurus Bot, which is a normal thesaurus but with the Basic English word or phrase as a "redirect". This would not only flag words as not being part of BE 850 or BE 1500, but then also, for lots of words, might be able to give the Basic English word or phrase which is the suggested replacement. There is probaby such a thing already in print form, for writers of Basic English literature. But the process needs badly to be automated here, and probably could be. Here if nowhere else!
Sharris 20:56, 8 October 2006 (UTC) (SBHarris on standard Wikipedia).
- I have an idea. Rather than a bot that no-one will use, why don't we just set up a web-based Java system. You type the article name in the box, it fetches it and does it with no installs. It's quite a basic system, but I'm not sure if I can do it. Archer7 - talk 21:44, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Zwobot
Hallo, I'm running Zwobot as an interwiki bot in more than 100 languages. I'm using the Python Wikipedia Bot framework, and I'm one of its developers. I'm also a sysop and active user on de:. The bot will only do interwiki changes on simple:. --Head 09:48, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] PullBot
PullBot a standard pywikipedia bot. It would do general user-requested stuff (similar to User:NetBot), and could interwiki links at a slow pace. Would this be useful? PullToOpenTalk 21:41, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- yes of course :-) --vector ^_^ (talk) 19:32, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bot of J Di
This bot account would make edits through AWB, fixing section headings of sections for external links so they say "External links". Edits that would be made with this account have already been made through my account with no problems ([1] [2] [3]). J Di 10:07, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hold on... there was actually a consensus a little over a year ago to use "Other websites", on account of the word "external" not being on anyone's list of simple vocabulary... See: [4] Blockinblox - talk 14:47, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Damn, all the edits that have been made these last few days have been to change everything to say "External links". Well I guess this bot (or another, of course) could change them all to say "Other websites" then... J Di 15:07, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- True... just thought you might like to know! should be no problem with flagging your bot, assuming nobody else objects...Blockinblox - talk 15:11, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NigelJBot
NigelJBot (talk ▪ changes) will perform AWB tasks currently performed by NigelJ (talk ▪ changes), the tasks are nothing to do with those J Di has applied for (External links etc) instead I'm intending to:
- General spelling fixes (regularly updated from en:)
- Interwiki sorting (I know this has been in discussion on Simple Talk, but I have built a local copy, with a fix for this problem, examples of the bot running are: [5] [6] [7])
- Automated Category changes, when required
I do not intend to auto tag articles (I actually oppose this), neither do I intend to do find and replaces (apart from above mentioned typo fixing).
Bot would most likely run on Wednesday/Saturday/Sunday (NZ Time), I also intend to run the bot on demand (per talk page requests). --NigelJBot 02:13, 5 April 2007 (UTC) (on behalf of NigelJ)

[edit] User:TXiKiBoT
Hello, I'm eu:TXiKi, from the basque wikipedia, and I would like to ask you for a bot flag here to add and correcting interwiki links from and to Simple English Wikipedia. I'm an admin user in the basque wikipedia (eu) and I have the bot flag in more than 60 wikipedias. I work with the pywikipedia framework correcting the most linked pages as years, decades, domains, municipalities, etc. This is the full list of the wikipedias where I have a flagged bot: am, an, ast, az, bat-smg, be, bn, bpy, br, bs, ca, co, csb, cv, da, en, es, et, eu, fo, fr, frp, fy, ga, gd, gl, he, hi, ht, hy, it, kn, ksh, lij, lmo, ln, mr, na, nah, nap, nds-nl, nl, no, oc, os, pl, pt, ru-sib, scn, sco, sk, sl, sq, su, sv, ta, tg, ur, vec, vls, vo and zh-yue. I can speak in basque, spanish, catalan and english. Thank you. TXiKiBoT 11:28, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] W7bot
This is Werdan7 using m:MWB (similar to WP:AWB) to switch {{unsimple}} to {{complex}}. I started doing it under my regular account, but it was kind of flooding recent changes. Example edits are here--W7bot 22:43, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- OK, bot status granted. I don't think we have any AWBs at the moment, could come in quite handy. Archer7 - talk 23:21, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AmaraBot
Hello, I hope to start some test runs with this bot on a few articles, doing interwikilinks with standard pywikipedia program, home is am:, run by am:Bureaucrat am:User:Codex Sinaiticus. Thanks. -- AmaraBot 14:15, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, apparently this wiki doesn't let bot programs test run anymore without a flag... You can check my work on the other languages. Many thanks. (see bot's Userpage: AmaraBot 14:58, 18 January 2007 (UTC) )
-Done. Blockinblox - talk 19:08, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] DodekBot
Hello, I'm requesting for bot flag to DodekBot. It's simple interwiki bot running on pywikipedia framework. I'm one of Polish Wikipedia's sysops and I have bot flag there, on de.wiki and on nl.wiki. (pl:Wikipedysta:Dodek)
- Special:Contributions/DodekBot
- pl:Special:Contributions/DodekBot
- de:Special:Contributions/DodekBot
- nl:Special:Contributions/DodekBot
Regards, Dodek 08:31, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- I've given the bot a bot flag as all the contribs seem fine so far, and interwiki.py is really, really safe. Also, it was killing RC. Archer7 - talk 12:06, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] TuvicBot
I would like a bot flag to run my interwiki-bot TuvicBot (using Pywikipedia). This bot will run in manually assisted mode, adding and updating interwiki-links, using the Dutch wiki as a starting point. I'm mostly planning to solve interwikis that autonomous bot skip because they're ambigious. --Tuvic 18:29, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- User:PullToOpen asked me at my Dutch talk page to request bot status. So I hereby repeat my request for bot status. The current request is identical to the previous. A list of bot-actions and flags can be accessed via nl:Gebruiker:TuvicBot/Bot-status. Thanks, --Tuvic 18:32, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] MiszaBot
This is a pywikipedia bot operated by me, Misza13. I will use it to substitute user warning templates such as {{test}} on user talk pages. I will use a standard template.py script, so the risk of an error is minimal (I'll also be watching the bot personally). No scheduled runs, all manually started. Миша13 21:31, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] BetBot
I'm requesting bot status for my interwiki bot (pywikipedia, interwiki.py) on this wiki. I am an admin at sq:wiki (Bet_0), and run the bot from articles there. Mainly new articles and articles whithout iw links. BetBot currently has botflag on sq, de, pl, it, nl, fr, en, es, sr, eo, sv, bs, sl, mk, ru, hr and waiting on some other Wikipedias. Thanks --BetBot 19:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Approved by Blockinblox, 8 December. Bot has done nothing but add interwiki links for past 3 months. Blockinblox - talk 22:46, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] JAnDbot
Please for bot flag for my bot. It's interwiki bot working on cs:, it does non-controversial automatic interwiki addiction, but his main domain is human assisted problematical interwiki (this operation is working on about 100 languages at same time, but maximal 10 pages per day).
This bot do standard interwiki addiction too, but only in the languages with bot flag.
Bot is based on pywikipedia. Already with bot status (24 languages): cs, eo, sl, pl, de, sr, hr, da, en, el, es, it, sk, sh, vec, ro, no, ... (see here Awaiting for bot: some more languages, e.g. fi, pt, ar, ja...

[edit] Thijs!bot
Hello, I am Thijs! and I am running my bot Thijs!bot on >25 wikipedia's to add and correct interwiki-links. I use the Dutch wikipedia and Flacus' warnfiles as a starting point. My bot is currently running on: nl, en, de, fr, sv, no, is, nn, sv, fi, da, pl, ru, pt, es, it, gl, ca, nds, nds-nl, li, he, hr, hu, io, id, ia, ie, ja. Simple: should also be in this list to improve the internationalisation, and the addition will not increase the server load. Thijs! 10:52, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Yurik Bot
Hi, I am an active bot participant, as well as one of the deveopers of pywikipediabot framework. Recently we added the ability to significantly reduce server load by fixing interwikies in all different languages at the same time. Each individual site has less need for their own bot operators, as everyone can contribute to everyone else. For this to work, I would like to get a bot status. Thanks!
P.S. Lastly, to avoid confusion, I will request an account rename from Yurik to YurikBot. --Yurik 17:38, 24 July 2005 (UTC)
- I've performed the rename to User:YurikBot. Since that was my only objection, I don't see any reason not to request a flag be set. -- Netoholic @ 20:13, 25 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] es:Usuario:Chlewbot
I am asking permission to run an interwiki bot under the account User:Chlewbot. I have already tested under my own account on controlled conditions. I plan to run the bot only on pages originated in Spanish language Wikipedia. I am also asking for bot status on meta. — Chlewey 14:55, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
- update: I have performed several tests. Results are available here. I keep the bot updated using CVS. If there is no objections, please notify in meta. Thank you.

[edit] Tangobot
Tangobot (contributions) is an interwiki-link maintaining and category organizing bot, running the scripts from m:pywikipedia. It is already flagged on en:. As for the category organization features, I will occasionally use category.py from pywikipedia to change articles when categories need to be renamed. Please see the contributions for some examples. Thanks, Tangotango 07:55, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
