Awake
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A person is awake when he or she does not sleep. When people change from being asleep to being awake, it is sometimes said they wake up. Usually, humans wake up in the morning, and are awake during the day. In daylight, people work, go to school or university, or do other things.
At night, people usually sleep. They lay in a bed, or similar place, and sometimes dream.
Many other animals both sleep and wake at different times of the day.
