FM is a type of radio broadcast. It is an abbreviation for Frequency Modulation. It is radio signals which are created by radio stations to send to radios in nearby towns and cities. AM is another abbreviation which describes a radio signal called Amplitude Modulation. They are alike because they both send signals usually of talk shows or music. FM is different because it sends a clearer signal than AM. However, it doesn't usually travel as far. Many radio stations send out both kinds of signals, reserving AM for talk shows, and FM for music. In addition, FM is usually sent as two signals, which can come two different speakers in a home. This creates FM stereo.
