Administrators have the ability to "protect" pages. This means they can not be edited, except by other admins. (Admin is a short word for Administrator.)

  • Shawn Mikula - Deleted (to remove content from visible history), blanked, and then protected in order to prevent re-insertion of previously deleted vanity information. Protection notice in place to explain the situation. -- Netoholic @ 03:12, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Put Protect, which means only administrators can edit it, put semi-protect, which means only 4 day old accounts can edit it, or move-protect, which means it can only be moved by administrators.
