Book
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A book is a collection of printed words on paper. Some books also have pictures, others do not. A book normally has a lot of pages and is held together between two covers. A big group of books is called a library.
Books are split into two main categories, fiction and non-fiction. Fiction is when the story is not real, mostly 'make-believe.' A book that is based on real events, but with fictional characters or dialogue, is still usually just fiction. Non-fiction is about true facts, like history or science books, or a biography (someone's life story). Non-fiction books have their own way of being sorted, called the Dewey Decimal System.
Books can be on any subject, from gardening to the human body. They are one of the oldest forms of communication besides talking. People can read a book out loud, or to themselves. Books can be written by one person, or a group of people. Books are read for pleasure, or to gather information on an important subject like mathematics.
There are people in the world who cannot read books. These people are called illiterate.
