Julius Caesar is a play written by William Shakespeare. It is based on the historic event of the life and death of the Roman emperor Julius Caesar.

- Brutus - Caesar's best friend, although he does not support Caesar's rule
- Cassius - a friend of Brutus, the head of the conspiracy to kill Caesar
- Antony - Caesar's friend, who supports Caesar and opposes Cassius
- Octavius - Caesar's adopted son, next in line for the throne
- Calpurnia - Caesar's wife
- Portia - Brutus' wife
- Flavius and Marellus - two men who are punished for objecting to Caesar's rule
- Cicero - a famous public speaker and senator
- Lepidus - forms a committee with Antony and Octavius to find and kill Caesar's murderers
