English Civil War

English Civil War is a term of history. It indicates wars and conflicts between 1639 and 1651 among England, Scotland and Ireland. These wars and conflicts have been given names as follows:

  • The First English Civil War
  • The Second English Civil War
  • The Third Civil War

The first two wars were fought between King Charles I and the Parliament of England at Cambridge and Northampton . The third war (1649 - 1651) was fought between supporters of King Charles II and supporters of the Rump Parliament. The Civil War ended with the Parliamentary victory at the Battle of Worcester on 3 September 1651.
