Peace
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Peace is a state of quiet or harmony, or a state without fights or wars. In this sense, peace within and among states is a goal of many people and organisations. An example of an orginization whose goal includes peace and is involved in trying to keep everyone peaceful is the United Nations. Peace can be voluntary, but can also be forced.
Martin Luther King Jr. wrote in a letter he sent from the Birmingham jail that, "True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice."
