British Raj

The British Raj is a term of history. "Raj" is a word of Indian languages, and this word means to rule. So, British Raj means rule by the British. This rule was over what is now three countries, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. At the time of British Raj, they were one country. Some historians call the British Raj "Undivided India".

The British Raj in India ended on 15 August, 1947.
