Rhetoric

Rhetoric is the science of how to speak well. Rhethoric is a skill that can be trained, and taught.

This includes the following:

  • Speaking to an audience, and convincing the people (sometimes called persuasion)
  • Speaking to only a few adversaries
  • Getting one's own ideas across.

According to Aristotle, rhetoric can be divided into

  • ethos
  • pathos
  • logos
