Polyhydroxyalkanoate

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA for short) is a polymer that is produced by bacteria, and can naturally break down (biodegradable). Even though it isn't a plastic, it has the same qualities of plastic. Some PHAs share properties with polypropylene (a plastic used to make ropes and packaging, as well as other things), and others are similar to rubber.
