Electrical engineering

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Electrical engineers develop (think and make) different things that use electricity in a helping way. They fix or design a better way of using devices that use electricity.

[edit] History

The first universities in the world taught philosophy and later science. With more knowledge it was necessary to start new specialized branches of these sciences. During industrialization, mathematics, physics and chemistry were founded, followed by mechanical engineering. When electricity was used more by people, it was necessary to introduce a new branch called electrical engineering. Classical subjects in electrical engineering are power, automation and control, semiconductors, and information technology (high frequency and computer). Details change in different countries. Later software engineering became a new branch.
