Hello, Creol/archive1, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! zephyr2k 16:49, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

When marking pages for deletion, do not delete the content. It makes it twice as difficult for the administrator. Just add the delete template to the top of the page, along with your reasoning. -- Netoholic @ 06:24, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Hello, Creol. After you have tagged an article, nominate it at Wikipedia:Requests for deletion. It makes the deleting job easier. Thank you!-- Tdxiang @ 09:15, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Very well, I understand. Thank you!-- Tdxiang @ 09:23, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Jose Rizal

You really transformed that article. Just wanted to show my appreciation for a job well done! zephyr2k 01:33, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

thanks

thanks for your support...I contact a stwearts and he block the vandals for 3 month...but I only have 4 support and 1 neutral....it's a small number of pro :( --vector ^_^ (talk) 17:43, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Barnstar

Barnstar Congratulations: You have been awarded a Barnstar!

For lots of great work, especially in removing "you" from articles!--Blockinblox 18:32, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Units of Measurement

I was just looking at your contributions. I think they look very good. I might take another try at it. It needs to have a very simple accessible introduction. I think it is moving in that direction. I am stunned at what some people think is "simple" English. And since this is supposed to be easy to read for children, I have no idea what some of these people are thinking.--Filll 00:46, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you!

Dear Creol, thank you for voting in my Rfa. You changed your vote from an oppose to a neutral. Despite that, Netoholic still has concerns. As such, I will not be promoted to administrator status. However, I do not hold it against him. Once again, thank you for your constructive criticism!-- Tdxiang 02:31, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

On edit wars

As I have already told User:M7, fighting edit wars with vandals is usually a bad idea. Vandals want attention, so if you give them attention, they win. Given that the current two vandals are probably sockpuppets of the last one, it is not worth investing time in fighting them with edit wars. Issue warnings, and report to admin team. -- Eptalon 23:24, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Sorry

I am sorry, if the statement above gives the impression that you are into edit wars. I should perhaps not have written it in that way. -- Eptalon 23:42, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

redirects

Redirects are there so that we do not have to bypass them. Can you imagine the extra work you've done, especially if someone decides to rename the page again in the future? The only redirects you need to bypass are DoubleRedirects, so please don't make more work for yourself and future editors. -- Netoholic @ 00:04, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Good Work!!!

Barnstar

Barnstar Congratulations: You have been awarded a Barnstar!

For lots of great work!!!!! --vector ^_^ (talk) 21:50, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry

I would like to say I'm sorry if I offended you by both adding some Anti-Mormonism things to the article and when on the talk page I said if you have a problem with the truth don't read this article. Some of my edits made the article negative but it is all truthful stuff. You truley add a lot to wikipedia. Thank you and god bless--Sir James Paul 23:26, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Category: Cereal Killer?

Hello, I think you mis-spelled the Seriel Killers cat, do you want ot move it or shall I? -- Eptalon 22:07, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

thanks

thanks for the welcome :) I'll probably be adding several rewrites from English in the next few hours/days to fill out the list of articles every language should have. Cheers, -- Brassratgirl 06:21, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Categories

Hi Creol, thanks for your work in creating categories. I popped in to suggest that maybe you should fine-tune the criteria with which you create categories a little bit; to take one example, Category:Airlines of Israel is a rather minor category, especially when we only have one article in Category:Airlines at the moment. While I do agree it's good to be specific, if there are too many minor categories, users will have a difficult time finding articles through our category system. Often the (main) English Wikipedia will have categories for the most minor of things; however, that's because they have close to 1,500,000 articles, compared to our 12,000. So, when creating categories, please be specific when necessary - but general otherwise. Thanks, and please keep up the good work! - Tangotango (talk) 09:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah, okay. But the wanted categories list is, after all, just a list of categories that are linked to on at least one article and aren't yet created, so you might like to think about changing those links on the articles instead of the other way around :P But to be honest, I'm glad somebody's categorizing all the articles here. Cheers, Tangotango (talk) 10:08, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello Creol, when you create all these categories, please look that we do not end up with one-article-categories. A category is not useful, before there are not 5-10 articles in it. -- Eptalon 20:38, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

I never edited your user page

I never edited your user page. Why would someone who wants wikipedia to be a great place edit your page. Plus I have nothing against you. Don't go and accuse me of editing your page. Thats BS and you know it. Get a life dude and don't lie like that because your making me look bad and remember the truth will set you free. Thanks and god bless.--Sir James Paul 02:26, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

How did I edit your page? Tell me. I frogot you can't since I never edited your page. God bless.--Sir James Paul 02:42, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Appearently you can't read because you read your user site history wrong. I would like it if you would stop being a jerk. Have a nice week.--Sir James Paul 02:47, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Why are you so mad that I gave you a barnstar. That does not make any sense to me. You were making it seem like I really messed up your user page. Sorry for being rude. Please forgive me.--Sir James Paul 02:57, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

I find it a little rude that you are not answering me.--Sir James Paul 03:12, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

OK, let's break this up. Creol, the actual policy on user pages is up to the individual user whether they want people to edit them or not (personally I'm fine with people editing mine, but it's OK if you want no-one else to). Your first message to SJP was a little harsh, so just calm down and think about what's actually happened. SJP, keep cool, no personal attacks. Can we let this go now? Archer7 - talk 10:52, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Creol, I would like to appologize for personally attacking you, It was wrong of me to do that. We both lost our cool and acted like little kids. The reason why I got so mad was because you were a little rude when you talked to me on my talk page, and I responded back in a very rude way by personally attacking you and by asking an admin to block you, sorry. If you go and look at your user page history you will see that all I did was give you a barnstar, wich I had a right to do, and if you don't want people giving you a barnstar then don't work as hard and that will answer that problem. I still think your rude and I still really don't have overly good feelings towards you but I am willing to move on. I would like you to appologize because on your first comment you were very rude to me and way over reacted. It is not my fault that you don't have a DON'T GIVE ME A BARNSTAR OUR EDIT MY PAGE on your page. I was enough of a man to appologize, but are you? I will be expecting a appology on my talk page. I really am sorry for this mess. Hope we can become friends. Have a nice week and god bless.--Sir James Paul 12:26, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

James, will you chill out? Before taking someone to task for not responding (people don't spend all day here) check the person's contrib list... See, Creol made his last edit here about seven hours ago, maybe he's been sleeping all this time. When he starts editing again you can assume he's seen his messages... Okay? Blockinblox 15:43, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

THANKS!!!

Thank you so much for editing my tennis pages!!!!! They look alot better!!

Well, oops is all I can say here. (I learned an interesting fact, however :D). I'll add it back, if you haven't done so already. Thanks for pointing it out! PullToOpen Talk 15:14, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

MARSHWOOD JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

What do you mean that MJHS is not notable, please tell me. I am not sure if you know this but MJHS has a articles on wikipedia(The one here is a simplified version of it). I think if it is notable enough to be on wikipedia it is notable enough to be here. I hope this is not about me being rude to you in the past, if so forget about it like I did. I feel that you are trying to test me by trying to get me mad, that will not happen Creol, okay? I do not go around trying to get your articles deleted so you should not also. I am not saying that you are but if you are stop doing that. Contact me on my talk page. Have a nice week and god bless. --Sir James Paul 19:51, 5 December 2006 (UTC) I hope it does not sound like I am accusing you of trying to get back at me, if it does sorry if I got you mad.--Sir James Paul 20:25, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

  • You have a better idea if it is notable or not. If you do not think it is up to wikipedia notability standards then delete it. That is fine with me.--Sir James Paul 11:33, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Your requests for quick deletion

Hello Creol, I appreciate you as a very good vandal fighter. However, when you mark those nonsense-pages mostly created by ip-addresses, can you add a {test} to their talk page? - that way it gets easier to identify future customers for blocking... Thanks, and keep up the good work. -- Eptalon 09:46, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

4000 edits

Congratulations, you now have more edits than me (I think). To prevent other users being blinded when viewing your userpage, I've decided to leave you without a barnstar on this one, but if you want one for it throw one on from me! Archer7 - talk 12:49, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Actually, that was copied from the English Wikipedia article. I'll ask over there. It may have even been copied from us, although I doubt it. Archer7 - talk 17:17, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Barnstar for cats work

Barnstar Congratulations: You have been awarded a Barnstar!

This is for your efforts toward knocking the uncategorized pages list down to only one page!--Blockinblox - talk 16:59, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

By the way, I'm surprised you recommended on SJP's talk, to see the cat-tree from that statistics site, which is a month out of date. There is a much more powerful tool right [here that is up to the minute, and expands to show all residents for the entire tree. In fact, that link is so useful I'm going to put it at the top of that page. (I already have it on my home page) Blockinblox - talk 16:59, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Categories

Hello, Creol, I notice you have been categorizing composers by nationality. It seems a good idea as the composer list is becoming so long. I take it this is the reason? Are other categories of people split into nationalities as well? It would seem pointless for something like "accordion players" as there is likely ever to be only one (I can only think of one) whereas "violinists"...who knows how long the list might grow? Is there an overall policy on this? We might as well work along the same lines. Would it be useful to categorize composers by their historical period as well (Baroque, Classical etc) as in Main Wiki?Hikitsurisan 09:38, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Category help

Thanks for the category help and for the kind welcome. I am having a lot of fun making pages about my interests here - unfortunately their is really not much room to help out on the mafia section on the English Wikipedia and it took a great deal of time to create articles about obscure mobsters which really aren't needed. I hope me and you can collaborate on the categorization of articles here. There is a great need for articles here and I'm happy I can add some. Again, thanks for the help Alexbonaro 10:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Cat problems

Hi, thanks for helpful comments. I have two small problems I don't know how to deal with: firstly, I made a "Category: Dmitri Shostakovich" by mistake but don't know how to delete it, and secondly, the "Category: Compositions by Shostakovich" I want to rename "Compositions by Dmitri Shostakovich" in order to be in line with "Compositions by First name Surname" for other composers. However there is no "move" option so what do I do? Thanks. Hikitsurisan 12:22, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

The y** problem

I would have thought the "you"s on the high and low page would have been acceptable since all four are in sentence examples, not main body of text. One could find rather awkward circumlocutions (if that's the word), but the examples as they stand sound much more natural. Would one not agree? (the Shostakovich templates worked fine, thanks). Hikitsurisan 16:34, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

  • OK, I guess the fact that I did not notice some of your changes proves your point that it can be done eloquently. Can the cleanup template be removed now? Is there still anything wrong? Hikitsurisan 12:27, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the good work

Hello, Creol. Thanks for the good work you do on Simple. Instead of marking Zoophilia for deletion, you could have replaced it with some legitimate content. What I did was delete it (mainly to get rid of its history). After that, i recreated a stub article. I could have done the same for >Gravitational constant, but I didnt feel like simplifying the physics, so I did not do it.

Anyway, thanks for the good work. -- Eptalon 13:00, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for helping me with that. Aw, man, was I dreaming? :) Happy...er... mopping.-- Tdxiang 10:34, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
