Bietigheim Bissingen is a city in the northern center of the Land of Baden-Württemberg in Germany, about 19 km north of Stuttgart and 20 km south of Heilbronn. It is after the district town Ludwigsburg the second largest city of the district Ludwigsburg. Together with the northern neighbour city Besigheim forms it a central center for the surrounding municipalities.

In the context of the regional reorganization as 1 January 1975 again formed city Bietigheim Bissingen with the day of its establishment as the large district town one explained. The new city could take over thereby the designation large district town of the up to then independent city Bietigheim, which had received this descriptor on 1 January 1967.

With the neighbour municipalities Ingersheim and Tamm form a central administrative body for Bietigheim Bissingen.

Not to confound with that as Bietigheim designated württembergischen city Bietigheim Bissingen the municipality of Baden Bietigheim is often short.
