From the standpoint of using Basic English, "very much writings" is better than "very many writings" because "much" is on the Basic English 850 word list but "many" is on the BE 1500 word list. Not a lot of a difference, but technically better. On the other hand, to a native English speaker, "Very much writings" is improper grammar... -- Creol(talk) 13:32, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

A lot depends on how badly off the grammar is compared to how difficult the word is. In a case like this, I personally would use "very many". BE1500 is not that bad compared to how awkward "very much writings" is grammatically. -- Creol(talk) 13:52, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
