We use the word sacred for something that a religion says is special or important.
Most religions have sacred books that tell about their religion. For Christians this book is called the Bible. Muslims have another book, they call the Koran. Jews call their book the Torah.
Most religions have sacred places that are important to their religion.
The City of Jerusalem is considered sacred by the religions of Judaism,Christianity and Islam, for example. Another example might be the city of Mecca which is sacred in Islam.
