Talk:Infinity

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Infinity is not a number, but a symbol. Could anybody correct it? (Please see w:en:Infinity for explanation).

Worse, it is an idea. Those are the hardest things to explain. Shenme 8 July 2005 03:26 (UTC)

[edit] Divide by zero

It is not right to say "a number divided by zero is infinity". It is more complicated. Mathematicians say that a number divided by zero is not allowed. Some maths gives us the answer of infinity. Some maths gives the answer of zero. It is said that the answer can not be known. Mathematicians change the maths to look for new ways to get an answer without divide by zero. See en:divide_by_zero.
