Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet is one of William Shakespeare's most famous plays. It tells the story of Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, two teenagers living in the town of Verona, Italy, and also the tragic story of what happens when they fall in love and marry, while keeping it a secret from their feuding families.

Then Juliet's mother finds her a future husband. But Juliet is already married to Romeo, so she pretends to die. Romeo sees this and is shocked. But he does not know that Juliet is just faking her death and so sadly he takes a poison and dies. Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo dead, so she takes his dagger and kills herself. In the end the two lovers lay dead together.

The play inspired a ballet, an opera, and several movie versions of the story, including those from George Cukor in 1936, Franco Zeffirelli in 1968, and Baz Luhrmann in 1996.
