A Continuum is a continuous series where all parts are very simmilar to their nearest neighbour, but the ends or extremes of it are very different from each other.

With other words: anything that goes through a gradual transition from one condition, to a different condition, without any abrupt changes or "discontinuities".

The difference between a concept with qualitatively different states and a continuum is im portant for all continuum theories.
