Skeleton
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A skeleton is the framework, usually made of hard things like bones or an outer shell, which supports the bodies of living things. In the human body, the skeleton is made of bones, and all of these bones together make up the skeletal system.
Insects and other arthropods have skeletons on the outside of their bodies, made up of hard plates or shells. This outside kind of skeleton is called an exoskeleton.
