== 1. Purpose ==
This policy sets out how Wikimedia Bangladesh protects the safety, dignity, and privacy of participants under 18 years of age at its events. It establishes the requirements for guardian consent, supervision, conduct, photography, data handling, and reporting, in line with the Wikimedia Foundation's Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) and Friendly Space Policy.

== 2. Scope ==
This policy applies to:
* All offline Wikimedia Bangladesh events (workshops, meetups, edit-a-thons, conferences, award ceremonies, competitions) where any registered participant is under 18 years of age.
* All online Wikimedia Bangladesh registration and communication touchpoints where a participant's or guardian's personal data is collected.
* All organizers, staff, volunteers, and guardians involved in a Wikimedia Bangladesh event.

This policy is intended as a standing, reusable policy for any Wikimedia Bangladesh program (e.g., WikiScholar, edit-a-thons, training workshops, conferences) rather than a one-off document for a single event; individual programs may add event-specific annexes where needed.

== 3. Definitions ==

== 4. Policy Statements ==

=== 4.1 Registration and Guardian Consent ===
* By completing the registration form, the guardian confirms that all information provided is accurate to the best of their knowledge.
* The guardian's contact information (phone number and email address) is mandatory on the registration form, so they can be reached in the event of an emergency.

=== 4.2 Attendance and Supervision ===
* The minor will be accompanied by their guardian (or an authorized representative) throughout offline events.
* The organizers are not responsible for anything occurring outside the event venue.
* At least two designated Safety Contacts will be present at each event (representing a range of genders/identities where possible), and their identities will be made known to participants and guardians at the venue.

=== 4.3 Code of Conduct ===
* All participants and guardians are required to follow the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC). A guardian is responsible for their child's compliance with this policy and the UCoC.
* The UCoC governs behavior across all Wikimedia spaces and applies fully to Wikimedia Bangladesh events.

=== 4.4 Anti-Harassment and Prohibited Behavior ===
* No participant, organizer, staff, or guardian may be subjected to teasing, sexually suggestive comments, or any remark, behavior, or gesture that could cause embarrassment or discomfort.
* Anyone asked to stop such behavior is expected to comply immediately.
* No participant will face retaliation for reporting a concern or violation in good faith.
* Organizers may take any action they deem appropriate in response to a violation, including a warning or expulsion from the event.

=== 4.5 Photography and Media Consent ===
* Guardians provide their consent for photography through a single checkbox on the online registration form: &quot;I consent to my child being photographed at Wikimedia Bangladesh events, and to these photographs being published on Wikimedia Commons, Wikimedia Bangladesh's social media pages, and other media, including national-level press coverage.&quot;
* Guardians who do not check this box, or who wish to withdraw consent before an event, may inform the organizers in person or email safety@wikimedia.org.bd in advance. In that case, a red-lanyard ID card will be issued to the participant, who will be seated in a location less visible to cameras, per the organizers' instructions.
* Organizers will avoid publicly pairing a participant's full name with other identifying details wherever possible, to reduce identification risk.

=== 4.6 Emergency and Safety Arrangements ===
* The name and contact number of the nearest hospital/clinic to the venue will be made available to all attendees.
* Wherever possible, Wikimedia Bangladesh will arrange first aid or provide a first-aid kit, subject to availability.

=== 4.7 Reporting Mechanism ===
* Concerns may be reported before or after an event via safety@wikimedia.org.bd.
* During the event, participants and guardians will be informed of who to approach directly to report a concern.
* All reports will be logged and reviewed by the designated Safety Contacts.

=== 4.8 Data Privacy ===
* All personal information provided on the registration form will be kept secure by Wikimedia Bangladesh.
* Only the necessary portions of this information may be shared with the venue authority and sponsors, strictly to the extent required for organizing and securing the event.
* All personal information will be deleted within three (3) months of the event's conclusion, except for email addresses for which participants have explicitly opted in during registration to receive future Wikimedia Bangladesh event updates. Such email addresses may be retained permanently for this purpose.
* Guardians may request to unsubscribe from future updates, or request deletion of a retained email address, at any time by writing to safety@wikimedia.org.bd.

=== 4.9 Online Registration Consent Collection ===
Wikimedia Bangladesh's online registration forms include the following consent checkboxes:
* A mandatory checkbox: &quot;I have read and agree to the Wikimedia Bangladesh Youth Safety Policy linked to this policy.&quot; Registration cannot be completed without checking this box.
* A photography consent checkbox as described in Section 4.5.

* উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশের সকল অনলাইন নিবন্ধন ও যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমে, যেখানে অংশগ্রহণকারী বা অভিভাবকের ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা হয়।
* উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশের অনুষ্ঠানের সাথে সম্পৃক্ত সকল আয়োজক, কর্মী, স্বেচ্ছাসেবক এবং অভিভাবক।

* নিবন্ধন ফর্ম পূরণ করার মাধ্যমে অভিভাবক নিশ্চিত করেন যে প্রদত্ত সকল তথ্য তার জ্ঞান অনুযায়ী সঠিক।
* অভিভাবকের যোগাযোগের তথ্য (ফোন নম্বর ও ই-মেইল ঠিকানা) নিবন্ধন ফর্মে উল্লেখ করা বাধ্যতামূলক, যাতে জরুরি পরিস্থিতিতে তার সাথে যোগাযোগ করা যায়।

=== ৪.২ উপস্থিতি ও তত্ত্বাবধান ===
* অফলাইন অনুষ্ঠান চলাকালীন সময় নাবালকের সাথে তার অভিভাবক (বা অনুমোদিত প্রতিনিধি) উপস্থিত থাকবেন।

=== ৪.৩ আচরণবিধি ===
* সকল অংশগ্রহণকারী ও অভিভাবককে সার্বজনীন আচরণবিধি (UCoC) মেনে চলতে হবে। একজন অভিভাবক তার সন্তানের এই নীতি ও UCoC মেনে চলার জন্য দায়ী থাকবেন।
* UCoC সকল উইকিমিডিয়া পরিসরে আচরণ নিয়ন্ত্রণ করে এবং উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশের অনুষ্ঠানসমূহে সম্পূর্ণভাবে প্রযোজ্য।

=== ৪.৪ হয়রানি-বিরোধী ও নিষিদ্ধ আচরণ ===
* কোনো অংশগ্রহণকারী, আয়োজক, কর্মী বা অভিভাবককে উত্ত্যক্ত করা, যৌন ইঙ্গিতপূর্ণ মন্তব্য, অথবা এমন কোনো মন্তব্য, আচরণ বা ইঙ্গিত করা যাবে না যা বিব্রতকর বা অস্বস্তিকর পরিস্থিতি তৈরি করতে পারে।
* এ ধরনের আচরণ বন্ধ করতে বলা হলে সংশ্লিষ্ট ব্যক্তিকে তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে তা মেনে নিতে হবে।
* সরল বিশ্বাসে কোনো উদ্বেগ বা লঙ্ঘনের অভিযোগ জানানোর জন্য কোনো অংশগ্রহণকারীকে প্রতিশোধমূলক আচরণের শিকার হতে হবে না।
* কোনো লঙ্ঘনের প্রেক্ষিতে আয়োজকরা তাদের বিবেচনায় উপযুক্ত যেকোনো ব্যবস্থা নিতে পারেন, যার মধ্যে সতর্কীকরণ বা অনুষ্ঠান থেকে বহিষ্কারও অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকতে পারে।

=== ৪.৫ আলোকচিত্র ও গণমাধ্যম সম্মতি ===

* নিবন্ধন ফর্মে প্রদত্ত সকল ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশ নিরাপদে সংরক্ষণ করবে।
* এই তথ্যের শুধুমাত্র প্রয়োজনীয় অংশ, অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন ও নিরাপত্তার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় পরিমাণে, ভেন্যু কর্তৃপক্ষ ও পৃষ্ঠপোষকদের সাথে শেয়ার করা যেতে পারে।
* অনুষ্ঠান শেষ হওয়ার তিন (৩) মাসের মধ্যে সকল ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য মুছে ফেলা হবে, তবে যেসব অংশগ্রহণকারী নিবন্ধনের সময় ভবিষ্যৎ উইকিমিডিয়া বাংলাদেশ অনুষ্ঠানের হালনাগাদ তথ্য পাওয়ার জন্য স্পষ্টভাবে সম্মতি দিয়েছেন, তাদের ই-মেইল ঠিকানা এর ব্যতিক্রম। এই উদ্দেশ্যে সেসব ই-মেইল ঠিকানা স্থায়ীভাবে সংরক্ষণ করা যেতে পারে।
* অভিভাবকরা যেকোনো সময় safety@wikimedia.org.bd-এ লিখে ভবিষ্যৎ হালনাগাদ তথ্য থেকে সাবস্ক্রিপশন বাতিল করতে বা সংরক্ষিত ই-মেইল ঠিকানা মুছে ফেলার অনুরোধ জানাতে পারেন।
