Most readers don't donate—only 2% do. But Wikipedia is run by a nonprofit, not by a billionaire. Like public libraries and food banks, we exist to serve everyone, not profit from your attention. That’s why we don’t run ads or put knowledge behind a paywall. Most of our funding comes from individuals—not from corporations or institutions, just ordinary people who give what they can, when they can. We rely on your help to keep Wikipedia independent and free. So if Wikipedia has given you {{AppealAmountSwitch|language=en|country={{{country}}}|amount=$5|$5}} worth of knowledge, or if you simply believe the world needs a place like Wikipedia: free of ads, bias, or commercial pressures—please consider donating. Any amount helps: {{AppealAmountSwitch|language=en|country={{{country}}}|amount=all|$5, $20, $50}}, or whatever feels right to you today. Thank you. 72ujrvef9yaqk2463xkmpxgeymddsea
