When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Hello Soul Train,

I was wondering if you could put me on the approval list for JS Wiki Browser. I've moved all mainspace articles on WP-lez to proper palochkas, and would like to clean up the articles themselves, but there are too many to do by hand. 

(293 article titles had a Latin vowel «I» instead of a palochka, 3 had a Belarusian/Ukrainian vowel «І», 2 had a lower-case Latin L, and 2 had a lower-case palochka. I assume there are similar numbers in the texts themselves. Of course, I didn't change the roman numeral I in titles like [[I виш йис]].)

While this new feature is already usable on your wiki, most people here are not seeing it yet because your wiki has set [[m:WMDE Technical Wishes/ReferencePreviews#Relation to gadgets|a gadget as the default]] for previewing references. We plan to remove the default flag from the gadget on your wiki soon. This means: 

* The new default for reference popups on your wiki will be Reference Previews. 
* However, if you want to keep using the gadget, you can still enable it in [[Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets|your personal settings]].
The benefit of having Reference Previews as the default is that the user experience will be consistent across wikis and with the [[mw:Page_Previews|Page Previews feature]], and that the software will be easier to maintain overall.

Я категорически против некоторых твоих лингвистических исследований, внедряемых в Википедию. Нет ни одного АИ на лезгинском языке, в котором название Украины было бы в том виде, которое ты проталкиваешь. Напротив, есть сотни источников, в которых Украина значится исключительно как Украина. Любую твою попытку писать Украину с «й» я буду впредь пресекать и исправлять на правильный вариант. Потому что я вижу [http://lezgi.etnosmi.ru/search.php?query=%D3%EA%F0%E0%E8%ED%E0 такие источники (как минимум 260 статей с таким вариантом)], и [https://www.google.ru/search?q=%D0%A3%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B0+site%3Asamurpress.net&amp;oq=%D0%A3%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B0+site%3Asamurpress.net&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57.7107j0j4&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;es_sm=122&amp;ie=UTF-8 такие источники], я вижу у Талибова только: «УКРАИН украинский; украин чIал украинский язык. УКРАИНВИ украинец.» и не вижу ни одного упоминания названия этой страны с буквой «Й». Посему это всего лишь твой личный, ничем не подтверждённый взгляд на транскрипцию. Энциклопедии так не пишутся. Плюс, тут важен принцип узнаваемости. Может быть ты, знакомый с украинскими реалиями, более привык ко всяким Запорижжям, однако большая часть лезгинского населения, я уверен, привыкла к тем названиям, которые значатся на картах Роскартографии, то есть к нормальному русскоязычному варианту, местами адаптированному к фонетическим особенностям лезгинского языка. Но никак не через украинские термоядерные версии, которые ты написал в списке исторических регионов Украины (о значимости которого свидетельствует его наличие всего лишь в двух разделах Википедии - русском и украинском).
