Ik wacht nog wel een tijdje af hoe anderen reageren. ::Meer in het algemeen: op WP staan nog meer integrale teksten van gedichten e.d., soms met een complete vertaling erbij. Het gaat dan vaak om al lang bestaande vertalingen die publiekelijk zijn vrijgegeven, maar soms zijn het ook vertalingen die door Wikipedianen zelf zijn gemaakt (gedichten van [[Auteur:William Shakespeare|Shakespeare]] e.d.). Ik twijfel eigenlijk al veel langer wat nou de beste plek voor al dit soort zaken is. Persoonlijk vind ik het eigenlijk toch het beste om alle integrale teksten en vertalingen in de regel hier op Source te plaatsen (waar een deel nu ook al gewoon staat, zie ik inmiddels), terwijl WP zich dan alleen focust op de achtergrondinfo. Uiteraard kunnen er op WP gewoon relevante passages worden geciteerd e.d. (Zie als "blauwdruk" bijv. het WP-artikel [[:w:De Dapperstraat]]). De discussie hierover zou natuurlijk vooral ook op WP gevoerd moeten worden. Vroeger hadden we daarvoor iets in de linkerkolom dat in het Engels "Display Options" heet (en dat er op de Engelse nog steeds is). Ik wacht nog wel een tijdje af hoe anderen reageren. ::Meer in het algemeen: op WP staan nog meer integrale teksten van gedichten e.d., soms met een complete vertaling erbij. Het gaat dan vaak om al lang bestaande vertalingen die publiekelijk zijn vrijgegeven, maar soms zijn het ook vertalingen die door Wikipedianen zelf zijn gemaakt (gedichten van [[Auteur:William Shakespeare|Shakespeare]] e.d.). Ik twijfel eigenlijk al veel langer wat nou de beste plek voor al dit soort zaken is. Persoonlijk vind ik het eigenlijk toch het beste om alle integrale teksten en vertalingen in de regel hier op Source te plaatsen (waar een deel nu ook al gewoon staat, zie ik inmiddels), terwijl WP zich dan alleen focust op de achtergrondinfo. Uiteraard kunnen er op WP gewoon relevante passages worden geciteerd e.d. (Zie als "blauwdruk" bijv. het WP-artikel [[:w:De Dapperstraat]]). De discussie hierover zou natuurlijk vooral ook op WP gevoerd moeten worden. De eerste beweegt zich in en bij de bouwwerken van den eeredienst onder afwisselende leiding van {{sc|dr. cuijpers}} en diens leerling {{sc|j. j. van langelaar}} te {{sc|prinsenhage}}, die thans weder eene nieuwe parochie-kerk hier sticht. Behalve de kerkgebouwen zelve zoude eene studie der decoratieve werken die daarin voor en na worden aangebracht, als beeldwerken in steen en hout, meubels, muurschilderingen en gebrandschilderd glas – niet van belang zijn ontbloot. <br>{{gap}}Op vele punten midden in de stad werden nieuwe winkelhuizen – logementen en dergelijken gebouwd, waaraan de bouwmeesters meer kunst trachten te vertoonen dan aan de rijen van nieuwe woningen die in de buitenwijken of in onze voorsteden verrijzen. <br>{{gap}}Omtrent de waarde dier werken valt in ’t algemeen niet veel op te merken, als dat met behulp van portlandcement de gevels valsche nabootsingen van schijnbaar monumentale steenblokken in grillige afwisseling van vaal-wit tegen de baksteenkleur ten toon spreiden, het geheel door een schrale willekeurig geprofileerde torenspits bekroond. <br>{{gap}}Een gunstige uitzondering op deze werken maakt het nieuwgebouwde winkelhuis op den hoek der Ridder- en Karrestraat. De bouwmeester van deze topgevels, die reeds van verre in de Ginnickenstraat zichtbaar zijn, tegelijk met den ranken toren onzer groote kerk, heeft goede leering getrokken uit de studie der zestiende eeuwsche gebouwen van {{sc|breda}}, {{sc|gorcum}} en {{sc|dordt}}. Hier zijn verhoudingen en profileering beschaafd en goed begrepen. Een prijzenswaardige zelfbeheersching heeft dezen bouwmeester bewaard voor de barbaarschheden, die niet ver van deze plaats aan kostbaarder bouwwerken den voorbijganger onmeedoogend te lijf gaan. <br>{{gap}}Wanneer het voorjaarsweer mijne uitnoodiging tot een bezoek aan de {{sc|baronie}} en omliggende landen meer kracht komt bijzetten, zal ik u gaarne meer uit onze omgeving melden. {{Rechts|{{sc|j.}}}} <section end="ingezonden1"/> <section begin="ingezonden2"/>{{sc|leeuwarden}}, 31 {{sc|Januari}} 1897. {{gap}}Nu er sprake is van een prijsvraag voor ’t ontwerp eener gemetselde spiltrap wensch ik de attentie te vestigen op een der merkwaardigste stukken metselwerk in ons vaderland: de net-stervormig overwelfde spiltrap van het kanselarijgebouw dat thans door ’t Rijk tot archief wordt ingericht. Met toepassing van slechts weinige en kleine blokken natuursteen is de groote breedte volgens zeer vlakke ellipsen met fijn geprofileerde roode baksteenribben overspannen, daartusschen de gewelfkappen van gele frissche steen. De spil in zandsteen is schroefvormig geprofileerd, alle aanzitten en doorkruisingen der gewelfribben hebben steeds afgewisseld vlaamsch ornament. De eer onzer kunsthistorie vraagt eene zorgvuldige bestudeerde reproductie van dit kunststuk van laat-middeleeuwsche techniek. In elke stad vindt men nieuwe wyken en straten, gevormd door huizen, waarvan de gevels en de aanleg niet alleen niet den minsten kuustzin vertooneu, maar die zelfs aan de meest bescheiden cischen, door goeden smaak gesteld, niet voldoen. De oorzaak tot dit treurig feit vindt spreker voor een overgro >t deel iu den speculatieboiiw onzer dagen. Het is klaarblijkelijk dat menschen die er slechts op uit zijn, o m van een zekere som gelds dc meest morelgke ivnte te trekken, niet vragen : „Zullen dc aanleg en de gevel vau mijo hail aan dc eischen van goeden smaak voldoen?" maar w e l : „Hoe kan ik hel huis bouwen, zoo, dat het met dc minst mogelijke kosten bewoonbaar is r" Daur er niet een wettelijk voorschrift bestaat waardoor deze wijze van bouwen kan worden voorkomen, meent spreker dat er in dc meeste bouwverordenin- gen dan ook een groote leemte aanwezig is, die men moei trachten weg te nemen. Pc verordeningen geven eenige. en dan dikwijls nogxeergebrekkige, voorschriften omtrent constructie enz., doch esthetische cisehen worden n i e t gesteld. Enkele bepalingen echter zijn er, die aan de gemeentebesturen toch eenige bevoegdheid geven, waar he* den aanleg van nieuwe wyken en stralen betreft wat krasser op te treden. Lengte- en breedtc-prolilen vau Straten en wegen moeten door B. en W. worden goedgekeurd en zij ziju dus bevoegd die naar hunne zienswijze te laten wyzigen, indien aanleg en proflei niet in overeenstemming zijn met de omgeving, of niet strooken met de eisclieu die men aan straten iu bepaalde stadsgedeelten kan stellen.
