This is a representation of the two main principles of Christowiccan theology: Mary the Mother Goddess and Jesus, the Holy Son and expression of the Father God. Christowiccans give a reinterpretation to the classical Wiccan theology blending it with Christian mythology. They believe Jesus was the earthly Holy Son of the God and the Goddess, and that the historical Mary Nazarene was the incarnation of the latter (the Mother Goddess). The Christowiccan point of view becomes more complicated because Christowiccans also believe that Mary Magdalene and Mary Bethanian were expressions of the maiden aspect and the crone aspect of the Goddess, while Mary Nazarene was the mother. Christowiccan theology also accepts the Nag Hammadi scriptures' testimonies about the relationship between Jesus (the Holy Son and the God himself) and Magdalene (the maiden Goddess), and explain this as an earthly expression of the fact that the God is both the son and the consort of the Great Goddess that Christowiccans associate with the spirit of life that pervades nature and all the cosmos.
